Terms of Use

1. What MeetNomads is

MeetNomads is a social discovery and coordination tool for travelers in Bali. It helps you find and join informal plans, explore stays and places, and chat with other users or stay communities.

MeetNomads is in an MVP / pilot phase. Features may change, break temporarily, or be limited to selected stays and regions.

MeetNomads is not a travel agency, booking platform, or event organizer. We do not process payments for activities in the current version.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with local laws while using the app in Bali or elsewhere.

3. Your account

• Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• One person, one account — do not impersonate others.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, or discriminate against others;
• post spam, scams, or misleading plans;
• share illegal content or promote illegal activity;
• post sexually explicit content or non-consensual material;
• scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service;
• access chats or areas you are not permitted to use.

We may remove content or restrict access at our discretion, especially during the pilot. A reporting tool may be added later; until then, report abuse to hello@straymeet.app.

5. Plans and real-world meetups

Plans on MeetNomads are created by users or participating stays. MeetNomads does not organize, supervise, or guarantee any meetup.

• You meet other people at your own risk. Use common sense in unfamiliar places.
• Hosts and participants are solely responsible for their plans and conduct.
• Capacity limits and descriptions are set by creators; we do not verify them.
• Always follow local laws and respect venues, stays, and communities.

6. Chat

Chat is provided for coordination and community. Messages may be visible to other members of the same room (plan participants, stay guests with access, or community language rooms). Do not share sensitive personal data (passport numbers, full address, payment details) in chat.

Stay owners may pin announcements in stay chat. Pinned content is the responsibility of the stay owner.

7. Stays & owners (pilot)

Selected stays join the pilot by agreement with MeetNomads. Owners access a panel via an email assigned by us. Owners are responsible for:

• accuracy of listing information (description, contact, location);
• recurring activities and announcements they publish;
• QR codes placed at reception and how staff explain the app to guests.

Public stay registration may be disabled during the pilot; admin-created listings only.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (plans, messages, profile text). You grant MeetNomads a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the service.

You represent that you have the right to share the content you post.

9. Our intellectual property

MeetNomads’s name, branding, software, and design are protected. You may not copy or resell the service without permission.

10. Third-party services

The app uses third-party services (e.g. maps, authentication). Your use may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party sites linked from stay listings.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.

We do not verify user identities, plan safety, or stay quality. Any reliance on user-generated content is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRAYMEET AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM OFFLINE MEETUPS, USER CONTENT, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the past 12 months (typically zero during the free MVP pilot), or (b) EUR 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

13. Termination

You may stop using MeetNomads at any time and request account deletion via hello@straymeet.app.

We may suspend or end the pilot, or terminate access for violations, with or without notice where reasonable.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page. Material changes may be communicated in-app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

For EU consumers, you may also use out-of-court dispute resolution mechanisms available in your country.
